National Galleries of Scotland Art Competition for Schools

Entry to the National Galleries of Scotland Art Competition for Schools 2019 has closed.

In 2019, the sixteenth year of the competition, we received over 8,600 entries, from schools across 31 council areas of Scotland.

The aim of the competition is to encourage school children to interact with, and be inspired by, artworks in the National Galleries of Scotland’s collection. The winning entries are displayed below and will be exhibited at The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Modern One) from 1 June – 22 September 2019 before touring to the following venues:

  • The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, 25 September 2019 – 2 January 2020
  • Borders General Hospital, 8 January – 30 April 2020

Teachers can access full details about the next year’s competition from September 2019.
