We are are in the process of reopening our gallery buildings over the coming weeks and are not currently able to offer schools visits. We hope to be able to offer them again soon. Sign up to our schools email newsletter to make sure you hear from us when we do.
In the meantime, take a look at our online learning resources, our Art Competition for schools and families. We also created our own Creative Curriculum during lockdown which is full of activities designed to help children make their own discoveries about art. This programme has been shortlisted for the Kids in Museums Best Website Activity award.

Scottish National Gallery project
While the Scottish National Gallery is currently undergoing a major transformation, we want to keep our collection accessible to as many people as possible.
Due to the ongoing work:
- We will accept two groups per day of up to 35 people (both schools and adult groups)
- There is currently no bus drop-off point so you will need to travel by foot or public transport
- There may be some noise disruption during your visit
