We look forward to welcoming all types of groups to the galleries to enjoy our collections, exciting programme of temporary exhibitions and education programmes.
Tours and workshops are led by a freelance team of experienced guides from a variety of backgrounds within the arts including practitioners and art historians.
We define a group as 10 or more people. We only require you to book if your group contains 10 or more people.
For all group bookings, we require at least two weeks’ notice for a self-guided visit and at least four weeks’ notice for a guided tour, schools or communities workshop.
If booked in advance, a group can take advantage of discounted entry for paying exhibitions and gain valuable insight from the Education Bookings Coordinator in the coordination of a visit.
By booking, you can benefit from group discounts.
If given at least two weeks' notice, we can offer free tickets to paying exhibitions to EU schools and communities groups, 50% off the full ticket price for an adult group and 50% concession ticket price for Further and Higher Education Groups
For further information about what we can offer adult, communities and school groups please refer to the relevant information below and click the links to the online forms to book in.
We can arrange a guided highlights tour, temporary exhibition tour or bespoke tour of a theme of your choosing for an adult group on a date and time suitable to you. A highlights tour is designed to give an impression of the collection focusing on 4 or 5 art works while a bespoke tour is a more in depth tour of a subject or theme of your choosing.
Our exciting school's programme offers a range of opportunities for Schools to engage with our collection and temporary exhibitions.
Further & Higher Education groups
We also offer highlights, bespoke or temporary exhibition tours for further and higher education groups together with access to resources such as our libraries and print rooms.
Community Access Groups
We offer guided tours, self-guided tours, reminiscence sessions and special events for community access groups. These are designed to be relaxed, accessible and most of all social. All our buildings comply with all the requirements of the 2005 Disability Discrimination Act and are fully wheelchair accessible.
We offer a series of reminiscence sessions, inspired by the collections at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery for community groups, care homes and those with Dementia.
