Friends and Patrons Booking

Our Friends and Patrons receive free entry to National Galleries of Scotland exhibitions, as well as access to exclusive previews and events.

If you have not booked online before, please see below for important instructions to ensure your online account is set up correctly to allow you to book.

How to Book Online

Please ensure that the email address you use to log in to your online account is the same as the email address that we have linked to your Friends membership or Patrons donation. If you wish to update your email address, or check what email address we have on file for you, please contact us.

Please note that you do not need to enter your membership number.

If you are prompted to enter your credit/debit card details during the exhibition ticket booking process, please do not do so or you will be charged. Your online account needs reviewed by a member of staff. If you are purchasing additional tickets for non-member guests, please ensure it is only these tickets you are being charged for.

1. If you have not set up your account yet, please begin by going to and requesting a new password by clicking on Forgotten your password? Reset here.

2. If your email address is recognised, a link will be sent to you to allow you to set up a new password for your account. Do check your spam/junk folder if you cannot immediately find the message. If your email address if not recognised, please contact us with your name, membership number/postcode, and email address. Please do not register for a new account, as it will not be connected to your membership and your discount and ticket access will not be applied when you book.

3. Once your account is active and linked to your membership, you will be able to book free exhibition tickets. Please ensure that you select the Friends and Patrons ticket type. Follow the steps and your discount will be applied at the checkout. If your discount is not applied, please contact us

Please Note: It is not currently possible to book online tickets on behalf of other Friends or Patrons. You can only make a booking using your own membership and for the number of free tickets your membership permits. See our Current Friend FAQs information about who gets in free. Please make a separate booking per membership or contact us with the details of both memberships and we can process the booking for you. You can add further charging tickets to your order if you have non-member guests accompanying you that are not covered by your membership.
