Gladys Caroline Barron was born in India and studied at St John's Wood School of Art in London. Following her studies she lived in Inverness and Morayshire, Scotland. Barron was a painter and sculptor, with a particular focus in portraiture. She exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Glasgow Institute and the Royal Academy in London.
