About this artwork

Anne Erskine was the elder daughter of John Erskine, 14th Laird of Dun and Margaret Inglis. Her maternal grandparents, Sir John and Lady Inglis of Cramond, were painted by Allan Ramsay and these portraits are part of the Scottish National Gallery collection (NG 2151 and NG 2152). There are also portraits of her husband John Wauchope of Edmonstone (NG 2149), and also of her son, James (NG 2148).
