Agnes Miller Parker

Two Siamese Cats

About this artwork

Cats were a recurring theme in Miller Parker’s wood engravings throughout her career. She produced numerous images of Siamese cats in both colour and black and white, capturing the animal’s wild and restless curiosity. Many of her prints were based on the countless studies she made of her own pets, though few of these drawings survive today. A further two prints of cats also belong to the National Galleries of Scotland, including one of her best known works The Challenge, produced in 1934.
