Reed Buck
About this artwork
‘Reed Buck’ is an early example of Miller Parker’s wood engravings, which she developed throughout her career. This print features a reed buck deer and demonstrates her blooming interest in the natural world, which would come to fruition in her renowned ‘Fables of Esope’ publication for Gregynog Press two years later. Parker made numerous sketchbook studies of deer with Cubist and Vorticist influences which now belong to the National Library of Scotland.
