After the birth of her first son, and following the purchase of a set of original letterpress type, Jo Martin was inspired to create a collection of alphabet paintings to decorate her son’s nursery. From there, Jo’s love of children’s illustration grew. Her playful illustrations are packed with quirky details for children to discover, whilst introducing children to first letters and new words. Jo trained in Fine Art Sculpture at Wimbledon School of Art. Her influences include mid-century graphics, as well as lots of time spent looking at and searching for a children’s books with her young sons.
