Although small in stature, Lulu is known for her big voice and even bigger personality. Her first hit was in 1964 with 'Shout', when she was just fifteen years old. In 1967 she starred in and sang the title song of the film ‘To Sir, With Love’ and in 1969 she was joint winner of the Eurovision Song Contest. She was one of a handful of singing stars from the 1960s who transferred to television with her own show in the 1970s, and her popularity has endured through collaborations with artists such as David Bowie and Take That. In 2000 Lulu received an OBE after thirty-six years in show-business. This photograph was a private commission from the early 1980s it shows Lulu with her then husband, John Frieda and their son, Jordan Frieda.
