Three schools within Aberdeen City — Hazlehead Academy, Kincorth Academy and Aberdeen Grammar School — were invited to participate in the project. Dance, drama and visual artists worked with the schools to produce work inspired by Ron Mueck.
The theme of body image was used as an additional stimulus to encourage the young people to engage with the work of Ron Mueck. The students visited the Aberdeen Art Gallery at the beginning of the project to view Mueck’s work and gather inspiration for their own creations. The artists then worked with the students in school over four sessions to create pieces in response to the exhibition and encouraged them to explore methods of interdisciplinary working.
