Surrealism

Surrealism was one of the most radical movements of the twentieth century. It sought to challenge conventions through the exploration of the subconscious mind, invoking the power of dreams and elements of chance. The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art owns a world-class collection of Surrealism; including works by Max Ernst, Joan Miró, René Magritte and Alberto Giacometti.
