Norbertine Bresslern-Roth was a painter, printmaker and book illustrator. Best known for her depictions of animals, Bresslern-Roth was a pioneer of the linocut print technique. In this highly sophisticated and dynamic image details (such as the patterns of the tiger’s fur and ripples in the pool of water), are suggested with a simple and economical use of colour and composition.
