Mixed media and collage on board

Earlier this year, inspired by pink rhododendrons flowering in my garden, I started to do sketches using monoprinting and mixed media. I also visited the Rhododendrons: Riddle, Obsession, Threat exhibition at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, in the summer of 2022. This inspired two large rhododendron paintings each in oil, mixed media and collage on board. From September 2022 I will be undertaking a part time one-year course in printmaking at Leith School of Art. I am keen to incorporate the printmaking techniques I learn into my painting.
