Graham Treadwell (Art Handling Technician)

Acrylic, oil and varnish on linen

Graham paints pictures of still-frames sourced from mass media. The canvasses are domestically sized, overworked and glitched palimpsests (altered but still showing traces of the previous work). Concerned mainly with authenticity, quotation, surveillance and spectacle, Graham documents and repurposes fragments of the photographic universe. Graham’s pictures employ a camp sensibility, seeking visual pleasure and transparency of content.
