About this artwork
This poster was almost certainly produced to advertise an interview with Andy Warhol, “modern icon”, in JM Magazine. The magazine related to the American department store chain, Jordan Marsh (which was later taken over by Macy’s). Warhol was a huge fan of all aspects of the fashion world. He is depicted here in his instantly identifiable silver wig, looking somewhat shocked, as a fashionable 1980s model kisses him on his cheek.
