During the mid-1960s the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco was a focal point for counterculture and psychedelic music. This poster, designed by Wes Wilson, was for the 1966 show ‘Pop-Op’, which featured Warhol’s Plastic Inevitable (a series of multimedia events held between 1966-7), as the headline act. It also included The Velvet Underground, the band who Warhol managed from 1965, and one of his Superstars, Nico, “Pop girl of ’66?”. This poster is vibrant, fun and typical of 1960s design.
