About this artwork
This portrait is from the series Tender which was commissioned to celebrate 50 years of the National Heath Service. For six months, photographer Iain Stewart shadowed Edinburgh GPs Dr Ninian Hewitt and Dr Susan Moir. Many of these tender portraits don’t show the person’s face, yet they convey the caring relationship between doctor and patient.
