The Blue Fan by Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell art print

£10.99

35.6 x 28 cm art print reproduction of The Blue Fan by Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell from the National Galleries of Scotland Collection.

Museum Fine Art paper 280gsm, a gently textured etching paper particularly suited to giclee reproductions of artworks and paintings. Ideal for premium colour and monochrome prints.

This painting is typical of Cadell's post-war style, characterised by vivid, acidic colours and strict composition. Using areas of flat colour and disregarding shadow, the artist has stylized the forms of jug, fan, chair, table and bowl to such an extent that the painting may be read as a two-dimensional pattern.

Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell RSA (12 April 1883 – 6 December 1937) was a Scottish Colourist painter, renowned for his depictions of the elegant New Town interiors of his native Edinburgh, and for his work on Iona.
