The writer James Hogg can be seen as a pale ghost shadowing the bright star of Sir Walter Scott’s reputation as the pre-eminent historical novelist at the beginning of the 19th century. Senior Outreach Officer Robin Baillie, probes the uneasy relationship between the men and their contrasting versions of Scotland’s historical hangover.
