Opened in 1901, the Dick Institute is one of the most important cultural venues in the south-west of Scotland, featuring the largest museum and galleries in Ayrshire.
This exhibition will present a selection of work by Gerhard Richter. Since the 1960s Richter’s work has explored the various possibilities offered by the medium of painting through experimentation with a wide range of subject matter both abstract and representational, often using photography as a starting point. Through a variety of techniques Richter examines the very nature of painting itself.
