Schools from all 32 council areas of Scotland have participated in this year's competition, with 16 areas represented by the eventual winners. In total, 7,171 responses to the set themes were received.
The aim of the competition is to encourage school-children to interact with, and be inspired by, artworks in the collection of the National Galleries of Scotland. This collection belongs to the public; thanks to modern technology, everyone can go online and enjoy the works at home, wherever they live.
Tesco Bank has been proudly suporting the competition for three years. Both Tesco Bank and the National Galleries of Scotland are delighted by the interest that the competition continues to generate.
This year, Scottish Ballet will be using a selection of the entires from the Drumming Soldiers and Fluttering Fairies category in a souvenir programme for their winter 2014/15 production of The Nutcracker.
