Discover the stories in your national collection of art, including hidden gems of Scottish painting and famous artists like Raphael, Rembrandt, Angelica Kauffmann, and Elisabetta Sirani.

Our online resources provide support before, during and after your visit.

Before you visit: watch the video Making Sense of Art to spark group discussion about why we need art.

During your visit: use the prompts provided in How to look at art  to talk about art in the gallery; or try 10 Things to do in a gallery.

After your visit: Your Art World provides challenges and resources to inspire art making back in class or at home, including an online gallery where you can share your pupils’ art with the world.

Please book 2 weeks in advance.

Construction work on site may disrupt your visit. The disabled parking bays are not currently in operation and there is no lift to rooms 14, 17 and 18.
