The workshop starts with a tour of landscape paintings in the gallery before moving outside to explore the environment immediately outside, using a variety of art materials. They will be encouraged to explore how these landscapes compare with the landscape they live in.

Key goals for the children are:

  • To develop understanding of how artists use sketchbooks

  • To take away a range of preparatory sketches to complete back in class or at home

Sketchbooks are provided. Time outdoors is included, so please come prepared for all weather.
