This smartly presented postcard pack has been produced to accompany the National Galleries of Scotland Collection of Mary Queen of Scots portraits. It contains 6 postcards of portraits of Mary Queen of Scots including iconic full length portrait where she wears a crucifix and a rosary hangs from her belt, decorated with a scene showing Susanna and the Elders.

Mary, Queen of Scots, reigned over Scotland from 14 December 1542 to 24 July 1567. The death of Mary’s father, which occurred just days after her birth, put her on the throne as an infant. She briefly became queen consort in France before returning to Scotland. Forced to abdicate by Scottish nobles in 1567, Mary sought the protection of England's Queen Elizabeth I, who instead had her arrested. Mary spent the remainder of her life in captivity until her 1587 execution.

This postcard pack comes in a brown paper envelope with an image of Mary on both sides.
