Japanese flowers square notecard set (10 cards)
Beautiful notecard set contains 10 blank cards, 5 different designs, with 2 cards of each, with envelopes in a folio featuring details of flowers in Japanese prints from The Fitzwilliam Museum.
The Fitzwilliam has collected Japanese woodblock prints since 1896, with a number of bequests and acquisitions adding to their significant holdings. This notecard pack highlights vibrant depictions of flowers from colour woodblock prints of the 19th century by masters including Hiroshige and Kokusai.
Notecard set includes the following works:
- Utagawa Hiroshige, Horikiri iris garden (detail), 1857 (cover image)
- Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, Looking as if she is enjoying a stroll (detail), 1888
- Katsushika Kokusai, Iris and grasshopper (detail), c. 1833-4, and two details from Convolvulus and tree frog, c. 1832
