George Leslie Hunter notecard set (10 cards)
Contains 10 notecards, 5 of each design featuring works by George Leslie Hunter from the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art collection.
During the 1920s Hunter emerged alongside Cadell, Fergusson and Peploe as one of a group of artists who became known as 'Scottish Colourists'. They were all influenced, in varying degrees, by the pure, bright colour and loose brushwork of French Impressionsim, Post-Impressionism and fauve painting.
The two works reproduced for this folio are housed in Edinburgh’s Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. When the gallery opened in 1960, it inherited a small number of twentieth-century works from the National Gallery of Scotland. More than forty years later, the collection comprises over 5,000 items ranging from the late nineteenth century to the present and encompasses work in a wide variety of media—from paintings, bronzes, and works on paper to kinetic sculpture and video installations.
Contains 5 each of the following images:
Cottages, Fife, c. 1923–1924
Reflections, Balloch, c. 1929–1930
