November window reflecting by Victoria Crowe greeting card
Single greeting card with envelope and blank inside, featuring November Window Reflecting by Scottish artist Victoria Crowe.
In November Window Reflecting, painting in 1997, both kinds of reflection interchange. We seem to be looking out of a window onto autumn leaves, bare trees and a trellis in a November garden, but that image is overlaid by reflections of the room in which we are standing. To the right is Victoria’s Annunciation lillies, however, which, unlike everything else in the scene, are sharply defined so that their white petals stand out. Curiously, too, where so much is reflection, they seem not to have any reflection at all. It is as though they existed in a different reality.
