Puffins can be seen at a number of locations around the Scottish coast, including the Isle of May, Fidra, Craigleith, St Kilda, Orkney and Shetland. All puffin species have predominantly black or black and white plumage, a stocky build, and large beaks that get brightly coloured during the breeding season.
