Pocket size: rule of thirds finder
This pocket size rule of thirds finder helps you create appealing images by dividing the image into nine equal sections. This handy tool is made of translucent laser etched acrylic, which allows you to look through it to work out proportions rather than by eye.
The rule of thirds guideline has been applied by artists in different fields such as photography, visual art, films and designs, and encourages creating more drama to the image by displacing the subject of the image from the centre.
Designed by Parson and Charlesworth and produced by Areaware, a design studio founded in Chicago by British husband and wife team Tim Parsons and Jessica Charlesworth. After running independent practices they joined forces to pursue projects that explore the practical, rhetorical, poetic and speculative possibilities of object making.
