Mabel Royds 2020 wall calendar
A beautiful wall calendar for 2020, featuring 12 bright floral artworks by Mabel Royds. From 1933 to 1938, she made a series of flower prints, twelve of which are reproduced in this calendar from the collection of the National Galleries of Scotland.
English artist Mabel Royds (1874–1941) is best known for her colorful botanical prints. She lived in Paris, Toronto, and Edinburgh, and travelled throughout Europe, the Middle East, and India. She studied Japanese printmaking processes and learned to create the images, carve the woodblocks, and produce the prints herself. Her bold woodcut technique and vibrant colors give her work an almost abstract quality, unlike other printmakers of the time. Royds enjoyed depicting the simple, yet beautiful, things around her, including flowers at their prime and in their dying days.
All of Pomegranate’s calendars are printed with soy-based inks on FSC® certified paper, which means the paper has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® and manufactured by an FSC certified printer.
