There are very few original works available for sale from this artist at this price, making this a rare opportunity to own an original artwork by this artist.

Jia Aili was born in Dandong, China in 1979 and lives and works in Beijing. A pioneering member of a new generation of Chinese artists, Jia Aili creates dynamic paintings that at once emerge from and challenge art historical conventions in the context of a rapidly changing world.

In his wide-ranging practice, which incorporates abstraction, portraiture, fantastic imagery, and scenes from daily life, he reflects on the dramatic modernization of society while probing the vulnerabilities of the existential human condition. For Jia, new meaning emerges out of both this interweaving of disparate narratives and the reconsideration of complex knowledge systems.

Whether reflecting on China's inauguration of the atomic bomb or the first satellites launched in 1970, the oil paintings of Chinese artist Jia Aili address the dramatic transformation of Chinese society over the past 50 years.

Within minutes of opening his solo show hosted by François Pinault Foundation, Basel a work sold for one million dollars.
