Thoughts that Breathe by Martin Boyce limited edition print
Laser cut paper limited edition print featuring artwork Thoughts that Breathe by Scottish artist Martin Boyce, produced by The Modern Institute in 2011. This print is 96 x 69 cm unframed. Edition of 30, plus 6 artist proofs. Numbered and signed by the artist.
Using a laser cutting technique, Thoughts That Breathe is read in angular shapes, which are scattered across the page to create a delicate work that is lyrical and poetic by nature, while referring to the legacy of modernist forms.
The works of Glasgow-based artist Martin Boyce are inspired by early 20th century modernism, influenced by his interest in design and architecture and its development over the time. His practice includes sculpture, installations and also wall paintings, fictional text and photography. He represented Scotland at the 53rd Venice Biennale in 2009 with No Reflections and in 2011 he won the Turner Prize for his installation Do Words Have Voices, displayed at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead.
