Unicorn I by Adrian Wiszniewski limited edition woodcut print
Monochrome limited edition print Unicorn I Limited edition print by Scottish artist Adrian Wiszniewski commissioned and published for Glasgow Print Studios.
Wiszniewski has produced a new series of woodcuts, which includes this woodcut fo Unicorn I. These etchings accompany his literary debut - "G.B.H. or The Girl, The Boy and The Hag", which is an illustrated modern fairy tale, with Gothic fairy-tale characters.
With Scotland being famed for its love for and long history of myths and legends, it is no surprise that a fabled creature such as the unicorn is Scotland’s national animal. While the animal is mythological, the ideals it represents are what make it a perfect fit as the national animal for Scotland.
Adrian Wiszniewski is a Scottish artist and one of the members of the New Glasgow Boys and led the resurgence of Scottish figurative painting in the late 20th century.
