Calum Colvin limited edition Jacobite plate
Limited edition fine bone coupe china plate produced exclusively for the National Galleries of Scotland. Each plate is hand decorated in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, featuring Portrait of Charles Edward Stuart (after William Mosman) (2015) by Calum Colvin
This special edition plate was produced to accompany the exhibition Jacobites by Name at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, 2015.
‘Jacobites by Name’ exhibition explored the complex legacy and secret symbolism of the Jacobite Risings of 1715 and 1745 through a body of photographic artworks and objects, and reflects on the cultural alterity of Jacobitism in relation to wider Scottish (and British) national identity.
Calum Colvin born, working and living in Scotland. He came to prominence in the mid-1980s. His early interest in sculpture led him to develop his unique style of 'constructed photography', creating small sets from everyday objects to resemble domestic interiors. More recently he has used digital technology to generate images that often ask uneasy questions about what makes one truly Scottish. He has exhibited worldwide and created a number of commissions for the National Galleries of Scotland.
Each plate is signed and numbered by the artist. Requires specific handling and packaging, shipped by courier. Alternatively you can arrange to collect from any of our shops by completing the special instructions as part of the checkout process.
