Timeline by Susan Philipsz framed limited edition print (57 x 57 cm) (UK delivery only)
£350.00
Limited edition framed print which accompanies the sound installation Timeline created for the Edinburgh Art Festival 2012 by Scottish artist Susan Philipz. This limited-edition print Timeline references W&AK Johnston's Time Gun Map (1879).
Print size: 50 x 50 cm, Frame size: 57 x 57 cm
As part of the Edinburgh Art Festival 2012, Susan Philipsz's sound work was produced in reponse to Edinburgh's One O'Clock Gun and was commissioned as part of the UK-wide celebration of culture, London 2012 Festival. A sound installation across multiple sites which retraces this now invisible line between Calton Hill and the Castle.
Born in Glasgow, Philipsz lives and works in Berlin. She has achieved international recognition, with major solo exhibitions of her work at museums and galleries around the world, as well as at the Venice and Istanbul Biennales, and as part of dOCUMENTA 13 in Kassel. In 2010 Philipsz won the Turner Prize; the first time the award had been presented to an artist working with sound.
