100% cotton tea towel featuring Reverend Robert Walker (1755 - 1808) Skating on Duddingston Loch by Sir Henry Raeburn from the National Galleries of Scotland Collection, artwork printed on one side.

This painting, also known as the ‘Skating Minister’ has become one the most iconic images in the National Galleries of Scotland Collection. Reverend Robert Walker was minister of the Canongate Kirk and a member of the Edinburgh Skating Society, the oldest skating club in Britain. The members usually met on the frozen lochs of of Duddingston or Lochend in Edinburgh.

Scottish artist Sir Henry Raeburn lived in London and spent some time in Italy but returned to Edinburgh in 1787. Raeburn depicted some of the most popular and relevant people of his day, from Sir Walter Scott to William Stuart Forbes.

This towel is packaged with cardboard band with information and image of the artwork. Wash on a cool wash, max 30 degrees. Dry flat, do not tumble dry.
