Ridiculous inflatable swan-thing by David Shrigley
Ridiculous inflatable swan-thing is based in a polyurethane resin sculptural piece by David Shrigley, designed originally as a limited edition. This not very graceful swan, named by the artist himself, stands at 90 cm (35”) tall, with very straight neck and looking totally not impressed by any other pool floats.
David Shrigley was born in Macclesfield and studied environmental art at Glasgow School of Art. After graduating he began publishing books of quirky, doodle-like drawings. As well as drawing incessantly, he photographs, makes sculptures and performs 'public interventions' which he then photographs for display. His artwork is part of the National Galleries of Scotland Collection and can be viewed online.
