This beautiful 100% silk scarf is an exclusive design featuring a detail of the artwork Geisha Girl by Scottish painter George Henry, part of the National Galleries of Scotland Collection. Produced and printed in the UK in pure silk, this beautiful scarf has a translucent ethereal quality and it is finely finished with hand-rolled edges.

Henry’s inspiration for this artwork came from his visit to Japan, financed by the shipping magnate William Burrell and the picture dealer Alexander Reid, where he painted a number of canvases, although many of them were ruined on the return voyage.

Born in Ayrshire, George Henry studied at the Glasgow School of Art and worked alongside the so called ‘Glasgow Boys’ like Edward Atkinson Hornel, who also travelled to Japan.
