White pearl, onyx and brass bead earrings
Beautiful Jacobean style white 8 mm pearl, onyx and brass bead set of drop earrings made by The Real Pearl Company. These beautiful drop earrings are designed based on the elegant style necklace worn in the portrait of Esther Inglis, 1569 - 1624. Calligrapher and miniaturist from the National Galleries of Scotland Collection.
Esther Inglis, daughter of a French immigrant, was a celebrated calligrapher. She produced exquisitely illuminated documents and little books, illustrated with flowers not unlike the honeysuckle and the pink in the corner of the picture. Painted at about the time of her marriage, Esther wears a necklace composed of several strands of tiny beads.
Pearls are a symbol of wealth, status and a form of currency. White pearls are associated with beauty, purity, and new beginnings. A powerful protection stone, Black Onyx absorbs and transforms negative energy, and helps to prevent the drain of personal energy, also the anniversary gemstone for the 10th year of marriage.
