Anne of Denmark (12 December 1574 – 2 March 1619) was Queen consort of Scotland, England, and Ireland by marriage to King James VI and I. With the death of Queen Elizabeth in 1603 and the unification of the crowns, James and Anne became king and queen of England, Scotland and Ireland.
Pearls are a symbol of wealth, status and a form of currency. White pearls are associated with beauty, purity, and new beginnings. Lapis lazuli or lapis for short, is a deep-blue metamorphic rock used as a semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense colour, the pigment from this stone was also used by some of the most important artists of the Renaissance and Baroque, including Masaccio, Perugino, Titian and Vermeer, and was often reserved for the clothing of the central figures of their paintings, especially the Virgin Mary.
