Our online shop is open and we are dispatching orders worldwide. To keep everyone safe, our warehouse staff are observing additional safe working practices under the Scottish Government guidelines and any deliveries from us will be contactless.

Our Click and Collect service is available to collect orders from Scottish National Gallery and Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.

How do I make a purchase online?

To search products by category click on the 'Shop' menu item and select a category or theme to find related products. If there are multiple pages of products displayed, you can click 'Next' to view the next page of products or scroll down to the end of the category.

Once you have found an item, select the colour and/or size, if applicable, and then click on ‘Add to basket’. Click on the basket to review the products selected. You can edit the contents of your basket or "Proceed to checkout" to proceed with your order.

 

Can I shop without setting up an account?

Yes you can purchase any products without registering for an account.

 

I forgot my password for my account, what do I do?

On the sign in page, click ‘forgotten password’ and enter your email address. You will be sent a link to reset your password.

 

How will I know if an item is in stock?

Online products will have an ‘out of stock’ graphic on the product item. On the odd occasion where we sell out and we are unable to fulfil your order, you will be offered a refund or the option to replace the item with an item of the same price. You can email ecommerce@nationalgalleries.org to see if this item is in stock in one of our gallery shops.

 

What methods of payment are accepted?

We accept the following debit/credit cards for payment:
Mastercard, Visa, Amex, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

 

How do I pay with PayPal?

National Galleries of Scotland online shop also accepts PayPal as a payment option, please follow the instructions as part of the checkout process.

Pay in 3 (Pay in 3 interest-free payments on purchases from £30-£2,000 with PayPal) is also available at the checkout. 

 

Where do you deliver? 

We deliver to most countries around the world but some exceptions can apply, depending on the type of product and international delivery restrictions. Can I order online and collect in store?

Our Click and Collect service is currently available from:

  • Modern One shop: open 7 days, 10.00 am - 4.30 pm collection times. 
  • National shop: open 7 days, 10.00 am - 4.30 pm collection times.

What duties and taxes apply if I shop with National Galleries of Scotland?

All VAT applicable products are priced inclusive of UK VAT. We are unable to cover any additional custom charges for both gift shop and custom prints which may be charged.

 

Can I have my order delivered to an alternative address?

Yes. When you get to the checkout you are able to input a different delivery address.

 

Can I cancel an order?

Please email us if you wish to cancel your order, if the order has already left our warehouse please follow our returns instructions.

 

When will I receive my order?

Orders to all UK addresses will be dispatched standard post. Subject to stock availability we aim to deliver to most UK addresses within 7 working days of receiving your order. This is subject to any local postal service stipulations.

Delivery to addresses outside the UK will be dispatched by air on a special delivery service; this includes insurance up to the value of £250. A signature will be required on receipt of delivery. Subject to stock availability we aim to deliver to most International (Europe and rest of World) addresses within 14 working days of receiving your order.  This is subject to any local postal service stipulations.

Some orders will require a courier service, the product entry page will advise if the item requires the order to be couriered and the customer will be notified of this form of delivery.

 

What is your returns policy?

What do I do if my items are delivered damaged?

In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged or faulty please email us or call +44 (0)131 624 6494. Please also see our returns section for more information.

 

Can I redeem gift voucher online?

Please contact us for more information. When our shops are closed or you cannot make it to one of our shops we can redeem your vouchers via telephone orders, email us for more information ecommerce@nationalgalleries.org or call 0131 624 6494

 

I have seen something in one of your gallery shops. Is it available online?

Not all of the products in our gallery shops are available online. Please email us to see how we can help.

 

How can I check my orders?

You can check you order history by logging in to your account to see all of your receipts as well as updates on the status of your orders.

 

How can I buy a print of a National Galleries of Scotland artwork?

Many of the works in the collection are available to buy as a custom print. You can browse all available works or search for an artwork and click on the cart icon to purchase. Alternatively prints of selected artworks are available in our prints and poster shop. We are unable to offer some artworks as a print due to copyright restrictions. Do you offer Own Art personal loans?

How can I find out what books the National Galleries of Scotland have published and are currently for sale?

I have a promotional code. Where can I use it?

Once you have added items to your basket you can click on the basket icon (top right of the screen) to view the items in your basket. The basket also accepts a coupon codes.

 

Can I order alcohol from your website for overseas orders?

Unfortunately, we can only fulfil orders for alcohol for United Kingdom orders. This is due to licensing and export restrictions.

How are you making your deliveries safe?

The current advice is that it is safe to receive parcels, although we do recommend washing your hands after handling one. Our delivery companies will use contactless delivery and if you would like to provide more information for delivery please complete the special instruction box as part of the checkout process.

 


 

Click and Collect FAQs

Are there any dates or times which I will not be able to collect my order?

Our Click and Collect service is currently available from:

  • Modern One shop: open 7 days, 10.00 am - 4.30 pm collection times. 
  • National shop: open 7 days, 10.00 am - 4.30 pm collection times. Gardens entrance.

Collection times for orders on 24th Dec and 31st Dec 3.00pm

1st Jan - 12 noon - 4.30 pm

How will I know when my Click & Collect order is ready?

We'll send you an email when your order is ready, confirming your chosen shop for collection. Please note that you will receive two emails about your order, the first email confirms we have received your order and payment, the second email confirms when your order is ready to collect.

 

When will my order be ready for collection?

We will usually take around 2-3 days to prepare your order ready for collection.

E.g. If you order Friday – Sunday your order will be ready on Tuesday at the earliest.

 

Can I collect my order the same day?

We do not offer the same day service for Click and Collect orders as these are packed and dispatched from our warehouse.

 

I've lost my order confirmation email - What can I do?

Please check the junk mail folder within your email account, as occasionally confirmation emails can end up here.

Otherwise, if you were logged in to your online account when you made the purchase, simply sign in and find the order number from the relevant purchase. Make a note of this and bring it to the shop when you collect. You can also email ecommerce@nationalgalleries.org to resend your order details if required.

 

What do I need to bring to collect my order?

We need to see your order collection email either printed or shown on a device. Please note that if you do not have the confirmation of collection email your order will not be at the selected location.

You will need to bring proof of ID such as:- the payment card you used for the order, or a current photo driver's licence or passport.

If you paid entirely with gift vouchers please bring either your passport or photocard driving licence as proof of purchase instead of the payment card

If someone else is picking up your Click & Collect order for you, they will need to bring your order number and their own ID.

 

How long will you hold my order?

We’ll hold your order in store for 14 days after which we’ll return the order to the warehouse and refund your account. Please note that this may take up to 14 days to process once the order has left the shop.

I was unable to collect my Click & Collect order, what happens next?

Please contact us directly at ecommerce@nationalgalleries.org or 0131 624 6494 to arrange delivery if you cannot collect within the 14 day period, please make alternative arrangements if you cannot collect your order. We’ll hold your order in store for 14 days after which we’ll return it to our warehouse and refund your account if it remains uncollected or alternative arrangements for collection have not be made directly with us on 0131 624 6494 or ecommerce@nationalgalleries.org

 

How can I return my Click & Collect order?

Can I purchase a custom print and collect in store?

Our Click and Collect service will not be available for any custom print order as these products are made by a 3rd party supplier off site and a delivery charge is made per order.
