Granton Centre for Art

The Granton Centre for Art is Scotland’s first purpose-built art store for paintings, drawings and sculptures from the national collection. Designed by Building Design Partnership, Glasgow, and completed in 2002, it provides 1,300 square metres of secure and climate-controlled storage space.

The National Galleries of Scotland are entering a busy and exciting period in preparation for the start of the Scottish National Gallery Project in September this year. The co-ordination, movement and storage of artworks, library and archive material will mean that public access to the Granton Art Centre will have to be suspended for the next few months. We aim to return to the normal access arrangements by Spring 2017.

We are committed to making our collection accessible to all. We therefore encourage anyone who wishes to visit the Granton Art Centre to complete the form below. Your enquiry will be treated as a priority and we will be back in touch as soon as the Art Centre is public access is restored.
