Instagram Competition | Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions:
- The promoter is the Board of Trustees of the National Galleries of Scotland whose registered office is at National Galleries of Scotland, 73 Belford Road, Edinburgh, EH4 3DS.
National Galleries of Scotland is a charity registered in Scotland (No. SC003728). - The prize draw is open worldwide. To enter the Instagram competition, posted on Saturday 29 February, like the picture, follow @natgalleriessco and tag in the person you would share the tickets with.
- There are 6 prizes to be won: 2x tickets to the first week of the exhibition, Ray Harryhausen | Titan of Cinema and 1 exhibition book. Tickets are only valid from Saturday 23 May–Sunday 31 May 2020, their validity beyond this date cannot be guaranteed. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prize is not transferable. The prize is subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute the prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
- Entrants must be aged 18 and over.
- Employees of the promotor or their family members, or anyone else connected with the prize draw may not enter the draw.
- Only one entry allowed per person.
- There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this prize draw. A purchase does not increase an entrant's chances of winning.
- By entering this prize draw, an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- This prize draw is being run on Instagram.
- The prize draw in not endorsed or sponsored by Instagram.
- The prize draw is open to entries from 10.00am GMT on Saturday 29 February 2020 until midnight GMT Monday 2 March 2020. After this date no further entries to the prize draw will be permitted.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the prize draw and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the prize draw will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
- The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party.
- The winner will be randomly selected during the week from Monday 2 March 2020.
- We will process the personal data contained within entries through a third-party to select a winner at random. This will be subject to a data processing agreement in place between the promoter and the third party to protect your data.
- The winner will be notified by direct message on Instagram and will need to provide a postal address for delivery of the prize. The winner may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize. If the winner cannot be contacted, does not provide these details or does not claim the prize within 5 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
- The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the prize draw will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Entrants’ names, usernames and any other detail provided in their entry on one of our social media accounts will be in the public domain and subject to the privacy policy and other terms and conditions of use of that social media platform.
- When the winner accepts their prize, we will ask for permission to use their name and/or username and the content of their entry in an announcement confirming that the prize draw took place and that the prize was awarded, and in any related publicity material.
- Even if the winner does not wish to be named, we may be required to disclose this information to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
- All personal data processing required to fulfil the terms of the prize draw will be carried out in compliance with applicable data protection legislation. Other than described here, we will not share, disclose or otherwise process personal data unless a lawful basis exists.

- The promotor accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the prize draw or accepting the prize.
- The promotor further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the prize draw.
- The promotor does not accept responsibility for network, computer or software failures of any kind and has no responsibility for delayed or misdirected entries.
- The promotor shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.
- The promotor reserve the right to cancel the prize draw if circumstances arise outside of its/their control.
- The prize draw and these terms and conditions will be governed by Scottish law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
