I am a Spanish photographer based in Edinburgh with a focus on alternative analogue processes. During the lockdown period I lived with my partner and his family. This image was taken on Loudoun Hill, not far from their farm in Ayrshire. I tried to capture the dreamlike feeling of lockdown and the surreal alienation of being so far from home during a global pandemic. The look was achieved by using 35mm film soaked in a special chemical mix that included hand sanitiser. The ‘soak’ alters the films emulsion resulting in the distorted colours.
