Sculpture - pill bottles and mirrors

Downward Spiral represents a life-long struggle with Bipolar Disorder. In my case, I have more lows than highs, so the spiral is heading downwards. The mirrors at the top and bottom endlessly reflect, symbolising the constant ups and downs of being caught in the mental health system – as I have been for many years. There are 47 pill bottles involved in the construction of Downward Spiral, all mine. Since its completion, I have amassed almost the same number again. I look forward to creating a future piece to represent my ever-changing (yet constant) health situation.
