Oriana Fuentes, Gallery Attendant for 4 years

I’m an interior designer with a passion for learning and trying new crafts. Prior to working for the National Galleries of Scotland I taught technical drawing for two years at a senior high school in Caracas, Venezuela; and I’ve also been making jewellery since 2005.

Pottery is one of my latest practices; I’ve been making ceramics for two years now using the hand-built technique. I like my pieces to look handmade with an organic and textured feel to them. This vase was my very first creation and I’m currently making cups and plates.

Like everything I do art-related, I’m interested in the process more than the final product itself and working for the Galleries has helped me learn about all the different
styles and approaches to art, which I love.
