'Since leaving university I have worked in museums, galleries and higher education libraries. I enjoy working in arts-based institutions but have no formal training myself.

I’ve been drawing and painting in my free time since leaving school. I have taken short courses in life drawing and mixed media. I mainly use art as a way to relax rather than hoping for anything beautiful as an outcome!

It’s great working in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, where so many different styles are on display - it inspires me to experiment more with my own work. I enjoy being able to make the national collection more accessible to the public.'
