Michael Youds, Gallery Attendant for 11 years

'I graduated in 2004 with a first class art degree from Lancaster University and specialise in portraiture and still life.

Working for the National Galleries of Scotland, you get a lot of time to look around and contemplate things - maybe too much time! I have thought of doing many a great painting whilst at work in my tartan trousers!

I enjoy working for the Galleries because you really get to know and see its great collection.

I also look forward to the many big exhibitions the Galleries put on each year. It’s great to meet people from all walks of life, both visitors and staff.'
