Join us for a free descriptive gallery tour exploring art through audio-description and conversation, followed by a practical workshop for visually impaired visitors. In this session we will explore an exhibition that celebrates collaborative projects between the National Galleries of Scotland and partner organisations across the country. The exhibition will explore the various ways that people can engage with art to bring benefits to their health and wellbeing and explore identity and belonging.

Bus numbers 10, 11, 12, 16, 26 and 44 all go past the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. Alternatively, take any Princes Street or city centre bus, to the East end of Princes Street, opposite Waverley steps and walk through St Andrew Square, turning left onto Queen Street.
The Scottish National Portrait Gallery is a few minutes’ walk from Waverley Station. Take the Princes Street exit, cross the road and walk the short distance through St Andrew Square, turning left onto Queen Street.
Follow routes for city centre and city centre attractions. There is no car park at the Gallery, and very limited on-street parking near the venue. We recommend that you park your car in one of the many city centre car parks instead.
The Portrait Gallery is located in the city centre near St Andrews Square. It is a 10 minute walk from the Scottish National Gallery and a 15 minute walk from the Royal Mile.
